To ask the Minister for Communities to detail any proactive measures Sport NI has undertaken to make efficiencies since April 2022.

Answer:

This issue is an operational matter for Sport NI.

I have sought the requested information from the Chief Executive, who has advised me as follows:

“Sport NI does not directly monitor and report details of financial savings arising from efficiencies. Sport NI’s focus is on living within the resource and capital budgets allocated to us by the Department, which have remained flat for the last 2 years, against a background of inflationary cost pressures. If efficiency savings are made in year, any such money is spent on sport development to maximise the impact of the budget allocated to Sport NI.”
