Question:
To ask the Minister for Communities for an update on the progress of reform of the Housing Executive, including plans to split the landlord function away from the policy setting and decision-making authority function.

Answer:

I am continuing to actively push and prioritise a solution on NIHE Revitalisation. The Department of Finance leads on engagement with His Majesty’s Treasury on this matter and I understand it is currently under consideration by HMT officials.

This engagement reflects a preference for minimal change to the status of the NIHE and which may not require any further structural reclassification, split or separation of the Landlord and Strategic Housing Authority functions.
