To ask the Minister of Health to detail the range of services and pathways included in the time critical waiting lists, as outlined in the Programme for Government 2024-2027.

Answer:

The time critical waiting lists include adult and paediatric patients, where a delay in undertaking the required procedure may result in significant adverse clinical outcomes.

Time critical procedures have a limited treatment window and cover many specialties including patients waiting for cardiac surgery, specialist spinal orthopaedics, glaucoma, retinal detachments, pyeloplasty, paediatric gastrostomy procedures and a range of diagnostic imaging tests.
