Question:
To ask the First Minister and deputy First Minister to detail (i) a timeline for the establishment of the proposed Office of AI and Digital; and (ii) the resources that will be allocated to the office.

Answer:

We have established an Office of AI and Digital and tasked the Chief Scientific and Technology Adviser (CSTA) with chairing a Task-and-Finish Group comprising representatives from government departments, industry and academia to scope out the remit of the Office.

The Task-and-Finish Group will present recommendations regarding the remit and requirements for the Office of AI and Digital, as well as a delivery plan. Resource allocation will be considered as part of this process.
