Question:
To ask the Minister for the Economy (i) for a timeline confirming the progress of the support for low carbon heat in the residential sector consultation; and (ii) when her Department's report will be published.

Answer:

My department consulted on future support of low carbon technologies in residential properties, which closed 10th January 2025. The views provided will support my department in the development of policy to inform options regarding the design, rules, and guidance of future support for low carbon heat. Officials are currently analysing the responses provided and my department plans to communicate a feedback report on the consultation through the department's website and social media platforms this summer. Any support scheme to emerge from the consultation would fall under the usual due diligence of government policy making. This is a multi-stage process of which this public consultation is an initial step.
