Question:
To ask the First Minister and deputy First Minister to detail (i) why the funding mechanism for Foras na Gaelige, stemming from an agreement decided at North South Ministerial Council, has not yet appeared on the agenda for the Executive; and (ii) for their assessment of evidence provided to the Committee for Communities at its meeting on 13 March 2025 that the funding mechanism has been blocked six times from being discussed at the Executive.

Answer:

While there is no paper in circulation which refers specifically to the Foras na Gaeilge funding model, this matter is part of a wider range of issues concerning the funding mechanisms for North South bodies. The recommendations which have been made to the Executive, following a discussion at NSMC to explore, remain under consideration
