Question:
To ask the Minister of Health to detail (i) when the Redwood facility will be open to provide overnight respite stays in the South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust; and (ii) the number of respite beds it will provide.

Answer:

The Trust plans to have Redwood Children’s Home operational by September 2025 and will be registered as a Longer-term home delivering two placements, one of which is intended to be shared between two young people. Redwood will not deliver short breaks or respite. The opening of Redwood will enable the opening of Lindsay House to deliver Short Breaks by September 2025.
