Question:
To ask the Minister for Communities how his Department plans to support young people under the age of 22 in Northern Ireland who will be affected by the proposed removal of the health element of Universal Credit.

Answer:
I am extremely concerned about the proposed welfare changes announced on 18 March, which I raised during a meeting I had with Hilary Benn, Secretary of State for Northern Ireland on 20 March.
I, along with Executive colleagues, have also written to the Prime Minister to record our concerns and disappointment at the changes announced.
I understand the shock and uncertainty caused by the proposed changes, but my department does not yet know the full impact.
My officials are continuing to work closely with the Department for Work and Pensions to understand each of the changes and their implications for Northern Ireland
