Question:
To ask the First Minister and deputy First Minister whether they will commit to facilitating cross-departmental collaboration on Community Transport provision as part of the Executive’s work on older people, following the inclusion of ageing in the Programme for Government 2024-2027 priorities.

Answer:

The PfG commits to collaborative working across all Executive Departments.

Our Executive colleague, John O’Dowd MLA, when Infrastructure Minister, along with other executive colleagues Minister Nesbitt MLA and Minister Muir MLA met on 9 September 2024 to establish a Community Transport Cross Departmental Working Group. Through this Group, officials are exploring what options are there for community transport to support the work/objectives of other departments and how it can meet the needs of users, including older people.
