Question:
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure to detail (i) any plans to review the current driver licensing requirements for community transport operators, particularly in relation to Category D1 licensing; and (ii) whether consideration will be given to aligning with the approach in Great Britain to support recruitment and retention.

Answer:

My officials have previously engaged with the sector on this issue. The current licensing arrangements for drivers of not-for-profit community transport providers are a legal requirement in support of road safety and at this point in time, I have no plans to change them
