Question:
To ask the Minister of Education to detail the number of special schools that have been re-categorised from the category of schools for Moderate Learning Difficulties to that of schools for Severe Learning Difficulties.

Answer:

My department has not received any development proposals to change the designation of a Special School.

The Education Authority has confirmed that since the approval of the Special Schools Area Planning Framework in October 2021, no Special School has been re-designated from Moderate Learning Difficulties to Severe Learning Difficulties.
