Question:
To ask the Minister for Communities for his assessment of the impact the funding cuts affecting Foras na Gaeilge have had on the development of Scoil Spreagtha as a scheme and the strategic growth of the Irish language as a result.

Answer:

My department provided around £3.6m in funding to Foras na Gaeilge in 2024 to allow them to meet their statutory responsibilities. I have no plans to reduce this funding in 2025.

Decisions around funding priorities, including the level of funding provided for the Scoil Spreagtha scheme, is an operational matter for Foras na Gaeilge, and their Board.
