Question:
To ask the Minister of Education for his assessment of the learnings that can be considered from the Scoil Spreagtha scheme in bridging the gap that exists in terms of the absence of second-language learning at primary level.

Answer:

My Department has not been involved in the Scoil Spreagtha project nor has it provided any funding. Therefore, no such assessment has been carried out.

The teaching of a second language is encouraged at both Foundation and Key Stages 1 and 2.
