Question:
To ask the Minister of Justice to detail (i) the number of Northern Ireland Prison Service staff used to secure floor six of Dundonald House after the recent break-in; and (ii) whether any files that could identify Northern Ireland Prison Service staff were left in the building prior to the break-in.

Answer:
Dundonald House served as the Headquarters of the Northern Ireland Prison Service until June 2023, when the normal operation of the building ceased due to health and safety concerns.
No staff were required to secure the Prison Service accommodation on Floor 6 of Dundonald House as it was not compromised by the incidents of authorised access to Dundonald House. However, in response to the incidents of unauthorised access and following a review of risk, the Prison Service put in place a range of additional physical security measures until the building could be fully vacated on Friday 28 March.
(ii) All files retained in Dundonald House since June 2023, including those with personal information, were held securely at all times. Whilst there was no breach of data or information, those files have been relocated to a secure site within the Prison Service estate.
