Question:
To ask the Minister of Finance to detail how he is implementing the recommendations included in the High Street Task Force’s Delivering a 21st Century High Street report that are relevant to his Department.

Answer:

I refer the Member to the answer to AQW 17411/22-27 which provides an outline of my Department’s response to the recommendations.

In addition to this, the member will also wish to note that on 10 March 2025, following debates in the Assembly, I announced extensions to the both the Small Business Rate Relief scheme and the Back in Business scheme for the 2025/26 rating year.

On the recommendation for more frequent non-domestic revaluations to ensure fairness, equity and transparency in our taxation system my Department has demonstrated its commitment to this with Land & Property Services conducting non-domestic revaluations in 2015, 2020, 2023 and the next exercise due to be completed in 2026.
