To ask the Minister for Communities to detail the number of social housing new starts his Department's initial capital allocation in the Budget will allow for in 2025-26.

Answer:

Work has begun to assess the impact of the Department’s 2025-26 budget allocations and fulfil all necessary equality obligations, including an EQIA consultation. The Northern Ireland Housing Executive, as the commissioning body for the programme, will have to consider how the budget may best be used to meet identified housing need.
