To ask the Minister of Education, pursuant to AQW 23860/22-27, whether a designated absence code will be created to record the numbers of pupils on a reduced timetable.

Answer:

Officials are working closely with EA colleagues to ensure that it will be possible to record absences at a more detailed level than at present through the use of a designated absence code from the commencement of the 2025/26 academic year, subject to the implementation of Edis.
