To ask the Minister for Infrastructure to detail how much the Half Fare SmartPass concession scheme cost her Department, including in terms of its allocation to Translink, during the 2024-25 financial year.

Answer:

It cost £889k to reimburse Translink for revenue foregone for Half Fare journeys in 2024/25 on Metro, NI Rail and Ulsterbus services. There were costs of £177k for Half Fare journeys on Glider. Those in receipt of a Half Fare SmartPass can travel for free on Glider services.
