Question:
To ask the Minister of Health to detail any engagement he has had with other Departments in relation to embedding suicide prevention into their policies and budgets.

Answer:

There was extensive engagement with other Departments during the development of the new action plan and implementation plan for Protect Life 2. A wide range of actions have been agreed with other Departments to ensure their contribution to the Protect Life 2 Strategy and commitments given to support this work which recognises this is a cross departmental issue. The Executive Working Group on Mental Wellbeing, Resilience and Suicide Prevention met on 3 April and agreed the content of the two plans subject to funding and these will be published shortly.
