Question:
To ask the Minister of Education whether the new Education Information Solutions system will record the number of children not attending school due to emotionally-based school avoidance.

Answer:

My officials requested the Education Information Solutions (EdIS) team to initiate the development of a new absence code for Emotionally Based School Non Attendance. This code will be made available in the current School Information Management Systems (SIMS) and the new Schools Management System (Bromcom) over the Summer 2025 break and should be in operation for the start of the new academic year.
