To ask the Minister of Education, pursuant to AQW 13934/22-27, for an update on his Department’s engagement with children and young people in relation to improved attendance.

Answer:

The “Miss School. Miss Out” strategy remains under review. Therefore, as yet there has not been formal engagement with children and young people.

The topic of attendance has however been a key theme in the ongoing RAISE Programme engagement with children and young people. Officials have also attended various events throughout the year and have been taking on board the opinions and concerns of both pupils and parents in relation to attendance at school.
