Question:
To ask the Minister of Education whether he intends to allocate capital funding to the Education Authority Library Service as part of the 2025-26 budget allocation.

Answer:

I do not intend to allocate capital funding to the Education Authority Library Service this financial year as they have not indicated any planned capital expenditure for this area in 2025/26.

The Education Authority is progressing procurement for a schools’ library solution. However, it is expected to be a recurrent cost rather than capital.
