Question:
To ask the Minister for Communities to detail how his Department plans to identify vulnerable households in relation to the proposals outlined in the recent consultation on a Fuel Poverty Strategy to target and improve energy efficiency in vulnerable households.

Answer:

In the draft Fuel Poverty Strategy, I recognise the importance of collaborating and building partnerships to identify and provide advice and long-term sustainable support to those most in need.

To raise awareness and identify vulnerable households to support, I will utilise and build upon collaborative partnerships and referral pathways between Government, local Government and the Voluntary and Community Sector. I am committed to building a partnership approach with the voluntary and community sector and health professionals, raising awareness, utilising best practice and providing specialist support when needed.
