Question: To ask the Minister for Communities to detail (i) how many victims of Domestic Violence are currently housed in temporary accommodation; and (ii) how many are (a) living with children and (b) not living with children, broken down per council area.
Answer:
The biannual Northern Ireland Homelessness Bulletin April – September 2024, published on 12 December 2024, contains information on a range of areas relating to homelessness and is available at: https://www.communities-ni.gov.uk/publications/northern-ireland-homelessness-bulletin-april-september-2024 Section 3 of the accompanying tables contains a breakdown of temporary accommodation placements by household type, as well as the number of children housed in temporary accommodation by type and age. However, I am unable to provide a breakdown of the number of domestic violence victims currently housed in temporary accommodation by council area, or whether they are living with children or not.
