Question:
To ask the Minister of Education to outline: (i) how families who are supported by the Education Authority's Special Education Needs Transition Service find out about this service; and (ii) when these families find out about access to the service and the support it provides.

Answer:

The Education Authority (EA) has advised that communications identifying the Transition Service and the relevant pathways to access the Transition Service issue to families/relevant service users at the start of the transition process in year 10. Additional opportunities for awareness and knowledge of the service may be obtained by family attendance at school-based transitions events or during Annual Reviews.
