To ask the Minister for the Economy (i) for an update on the review of the minerals licensing policy and the associated regulatory framework; and (ii) to outline when this will be finalised.

Answer:

The review of mineral licensing policy, which is currently enshrined in the Minerals Development Act (Northern Ireland) 1969, is ongoing. The next steps are a Strategic Environmental Assessment and a Call for Evidence. My Department is proceeding with the review as quickly as possible
