Question:
To ask the Minister for Communities to detail (i) the funding mechanism used for (a) the Commissioner for Older People for Northern Ireland; and (b) the Northern Ireland Commissioner for Children and Young People; and (ii) whether there is a ring-fenced funding allocation for the commissioners in the budget rather than dependence on monitoring rounds.

Answer:

My Department funds the Commissioner for Older People for Northern Ireland and the Northern Ireland Commissioner for Children and Young People through Grant-In-Aid. There is no ring-fenced funding allocation for either Commissioner.
