Question:
To ask the Minister for Communities whether any progress has been made on an independent review of the legal duties owed to homeless people and the development of legislation for a statutory duty to prevent homelessness.

Answer:

Whilst I have not made any commitment to a comprehensive independent review of the legal duties owed to individuals experiencing homelessness, there may be opportunity to change the underpinning legislation to better support our policy aims.

My officials continue to engage with the Housing Executive and stakeholders in this regard.
