To ask the Minister of Education to outline: (i) how many schools have a dedicated allergy policy; and (ii) what work is being undertaken to ensure all schools develop such a policy.

Answer:

The Education Authority has advised that it does not collect this information.

My department is progressing an update to the ‘Supporting pupils with Medication Needs’ Guidance, which includes a section on Allergic Reactions/Anaphylaxis, in collaboration with the Department of Health and the Education Authority.
