To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs what role research and innovation will play in advancing the objectives outlined in the Food Strategy Framework Action Plan 2025-2027.

Answer:

The importance of research and innovation is recognised in the first Food Strategy Framework Action Plan, including the important role of social science and behavioural research to drive individual behaviour change.

There is a specific Action to ensure effective signposting of the ranges of support services available to food & drinks processing businesses across areas including research and innovation support.
