To ask the Minister of Education pursuant to AQW 25380/22-27, for an update on the number of appropriate school places that need to be found for children with a statement of Special Educational Needs for September 2025.

The Education Authority (EA) has advised that:

The pressure to secure placements for children and young people with statements of Special Educational Needs (SEN) remains challenging. Despite significant efforts to increase capacity across the school estate in advance of the new academic year, it is currently estimated that there is a critical capacity requirement for circa 330 children with SEN across all transition years.
