Question:
To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs how his Department engaged with agri-food stakeholders in developing the proposed Nutrients Action Programme for 2026 - 2029.

Answer:

Stakeholders were updated on the findings in the Implementation Report for the Nutrients Action Programme (NAP) 2020 – 2023 and the current science and research, which supports the NAP proposals, in June and November 2024.

Presentations from these meetings were made available to representatives on the Stakeholder Group and are published on the DAERA website.

In parallel with the consultation, my officials have delivered a series of information events including two public meetings, two online public information events and three themed meetings with key stakeholder representatives.

My officials will continue to meet and engage with stakeholders and I will also continue to meet with key stakeholder representatives.
