To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs what steps he is taking to ensure the final Nutrients Action Programme for 2026 - 2029 reflects the views of farmers and the realities of food production.

Answer:

The development of the proposed Nutrients Action Programme 2026-2029 has been guided by science and evidence. The draft proposals are underpinned by a broad range of analysis and research studies. There are processes in place to ensure decisions on any of the draft proposals are informed by robust scientific evidence.
