Question:
To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs how the proposed Nutrients Action Programme for 2026-2029 aligns with voluntary measures under the Farming with Nature Transition Scheme.

Answer:

The development of the draft proposals has been guided by science and evidence and the information in the Implementation Report for the Nutrients Action Programme (NAP) 2020 – 2023. This was produced in accordance with regulation 34 of the NAP (Northern Ireland) Regulations 2019 and it was published in June 2024.

The final Proposals will take account of the wider policy landscape including the Farming with nature scheme.
