Question:
To ask the Minister for the Economy to detail the number of (i) asylum seekers; and (ii) refugees, aged between 16 and 24, who are currently enrolled in courses in further education colleges in Northern Ireland.

Answer:

Due to the UK Statistics Authority’s rules regarding the use of published statistics, we are unable to provide the statistics for the current 2024/25 academic year until formal publication by the Department's Analytical Services Division in December of this year.

Data is available for previous years and can be found in the ‘Further Education College Statistics’ section of the Department’s website which can be accessed here - https://www.economy-ni.gov.uk/publications/further-education-ad-hoc-tables.
