Question:
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure to detail any plans for upgrading the drainage and sewage system in Bryansford Avenue, Newcastle, and the surrounding flood area.

Answer:

The Department currently has no planned drainage works in Bryansford Avenue, Newcastle. However, Rivers Directorate will continue its routine inspection and maintenance of designated watercourses and associated infrastructure within the Newcastle catchment.

I have been advised that NI Water has no reports of flooding at this location, apart from a routine blockage which was reported in July 2022 caused by wet wipes. As a consequence, NI Water has no plans to upgrade the infrastructure in this specific location.
