Question:
To ask the Minister of Education to detail if the Independent Review of Assessment Panel will advise on the impact of the current post-primary transfer arrangements on assessment at the end of Key Stage 2.

Answer:
Post-primary transfer assessments are not part of the Review remit.
The Independent Review of Assessment Panel will conduct an evidence-based review of assessment approaches internationally and make a series of policy proposals about the purpose, nature and design of state assessment in Northern Ireland.
As outlined in the published Terms of Reference one of the objectives of the review is to evaluate the overall coherence of current assessment arrangements across all Key Stages including the transition of assessment data from the primary to post-primary phases.
