Question:
To ask the First Minister and deputy First Minister to outline the options available to Executive Ministers who seek to progress legislation on matters where statutory responsibilities rest with more than one Executive Department.

Answer:

Such Bills would be considered on an individual basis, taking into account the nature and effect of the relevant provisions. However, a Bill of this kind would normally be the subject of cross departmental engagement throughout the course of its development.

All Bills require Executive approval before they can be introduced to the Assembly, and this is the case irrespective of the provisions included.
