Question:
To ask the Minister of Education for an update on the work that has been undertaken to date to understand the needs of children in special schools.

Answer:

The Education Authority (EA) has advised that the Public Health Agency and the EA continue to work together on ‘Towards Understanding Therapeutic Needs’. A number of meetings have taken place and discussion is currently focussed on appropriate and relevant data sharing with advice from information governance colleagues. EA is supporting this work particularly in relation to accessing information in a comprehensive and timely manner.
