To ask the Minister of Health whether his Department will introduce miscarriage registration to improve data collection and inform future policies.

Answer:

There is currently no legal provision for the registration of miscarriage, which is defined as the loss of a pregnancy before 24 completed weeks of gestation. Legislation underpinning the requirements around registration falls under the remit of the Department of Finance (DoF).
