To ask the Minister of Health, pursuant to AQW 23190/22-27, for an update on what progress has been made on exploring possible future changes to the financial support provided to students on all pre-registration healthcare programmes.

Answer:

My officials are continuing their review into the breadth of current funding provided in support of students on pre-registration healthcare programmes. This review is intended to inform options for a public consultation. I would hope to be in a position to launch that consultation later this year.

It is not possible to indicate what future changes will be until the consultation has been completed and responses considered.
