To ask the Minister for the Economy to detail what actions she is taking to develop a structured approach to employer engagement to enhance and support the number of people with disabilities into employment, as called for in Mind the Gap, Supporting people with disabilities into employment, Summary Report - June 2025.

Answer:

My department offers a range of programmes, many of which are in conjunction with employers. We have also been working closely with the Department for Communities (DfC) on the development of a Disability and Work Strategy which will aim to improve employment outcomes for disabled people and people with health conditions and the SEDI sub-committee of the Skills Council includes membership from both the business community and disability advocates.
