To ask the Minister for the Economy for a breakdown of the number of Airbnb properties registered, broken down by local council area, in each of the last 10 years.

Answer:

Tourism NI holds information on the number of certified properties by accommodation category and by Council area. The eight accommodation categories set out in the legislation are Hotels, Guest Houses, Bed & Breakfast Establishments, Self-Catering Establishments, Hostels, Bunk House, Campus Accommodation and Guest Accommodation. Tourism NI, however, does not hold any information on the number of accommodation providers who promote their properties on particular marketing platforms such as Airbnb.
