Question:
To ask the Minister of Finance to detail the last date by which the allocation for the A5 project can be reasonably spent within the 2025/26 financial year.

Answer:

Department for Infrastructure (DfI) will need time and space to work through the recent ruling in relation to the A5 in order to fully understand its implications, including in relation to the use of resources allocated for the scheme for 2025-26.

Any funding allocated in 2025-26 which is not required should be returned to the centre for reallocation at the earliest opportunity. The reallocation of any Executive-earmarked reduced requirements will be a matter for the Executive to consider and agree upon as part of the in-year monitoring process.
