To ask the Minister of Finance to detail why MLAs do not have cost free access to Land and Property Services maps as a tool to support constituents.

ANSWER

The Land Registry operates on a full cost financial recovery model and fees are set to cover the actual costs of providing registration services, including map searches. This approach ensures that the costs of operating the Registry are recouped from the users of its services.

As part of the Land and Property Services (LPS) transformation programme Land Registry will deliver a modern and sustainable IT solution that will enable it to transform current business processes and enable all citizens to access Land Information Services for Registration data online from October 2027.
