Question:
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure for an update on the two remaining sections of the A5 road which have not yet been decided upon.

Answer:

Work continues in relation to addressing the Planning Appeals Commission recommendations on the remaining two sections of the scheme, i.e. Section 1 (south of Strabane to New Buildings) and Section 3 Phase 3 (Ballygawley to the border). These will be subject to separate decisions in due course.

A cross-border working group has now been established to reinforce collaboration on the continued development of the N2 Clontibret to border Road Scheme and Phase 3 of the A5, from Ballygawley to the border.

Both Administrations continue to closely collaborate on the A5 / Donegal TEN-T projects interface, including in relation to the mitigation of impacts on the River Foyle floodplain, with regular meetings taking place with Donegal County Council and the Office of Public Works.
