Question:
To ask the Minister for the Economy to detail when legislation for the Renewable Electricity Price Guarantee scheme will be introduced in the Assembly, to enable the first auction to take place as planned in the third quarter of 2026.

Answer:

My Department is targeting to introduce the required primary legislation for the Renewable Electricity Price Guarantee (REPG) to the Assembly before the end of this year. Once the primary Bill is in place, subordinate legislation will be taken forward to set out the detailed arrangements.

The timetable for the first auction is set out in the Final Scheme Design for the REPG which was published on 19 September 2025.
