To ask the Minister for Communities whether he will provide a copy of the business case detailing the rationale for the addition of the post of Director of Mechanisms of Government for the Department for Communities.

Answer:

The Director of Machinery of Government post was established in May 2023 following the realignment of business areas within the Department. A business case was not required, as the role was funded through the suppression of other posts that were deemed surplus to requirements.
