Question:
To ask the Minister of Education, pursuant to AQW 30087/22-27, to detail (i) the nine special educational needs transformation projects to be delivered using the funding received from the Interim Public Services Transformation Board; (ii) the cost breakdown of each of these individual projects; and (iii) the intended outcomes of each of these individual projects.

Answer:

I refer the Member to the answer to AQW 24357/22-27, published in the weekly answer booklet for week ending 21st March 2025.

The costings for each project are indicative and subject to change as the projects progress, with some subject to final proposals from delivery partners. The working detail of costings are not planned for publication; however, there will be full transparency and accountability on expenditure.

As outlined in the Special Educational Needs (SEN) Reform Outcomes Framework, monitoring will utilise ‘performance measures’ to measure the quantity and quality of activity and effect of each action within the SEN and Disability (SEN/D) Reform Delivery Plan. The population indicators to which each project will contribute are outlined in full in the SEN Reform Outcomes Framework, published in June 2025.

Performance measures are being developed for all actions as they progress and annual report cards will be produced.
