Question:
To ask the Minister of Health for an update on the dentistry cost of service review, including (i) the experts who will be undertaking the review; and (ii) a timeline.

Answer:

Professor Ciaran O’Neill has been appointed to carry out the General Dental Service Cost of Service Review.

Prof. O’Neill has the necessary experience and expertise to carry out this specialist piece of work, being Professor of Health Economics within the Centre for Public Health in Queens University Belfast and having completed a review of the Northern Ireland General Dental Service contract in 2008.

The review is due to be completed by March 2026.
